About us

Our history

The firm A M Simpson was established in 1898 by Alexander Morgan Simpson, an Edinburgh Solicitor who loved the town of Moffat.

The firm was carried on through three generations of the Simpson family, but this long tradition ceased in 1999 when David Lorimer Simpson retired.

The firm was run by Alan Davidson and his wife Christine between 1985 and 2016.

A M Simpson is now run by Alistair Stevenson of Lockerbie.
